Some of you may be interested in this.  From stuff.co.nz (the Fairfax news site, which owns most of the newspapers in NZ):

From the world of music, Auckland tenor Simon O'Neill - who is in demand worldwide and has performed with the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Teatro alla Scala and both the Bayreuth, Salzburg and BBC Proms Festivals - becomes and ONZM, as does voice coach Frances Wilson-Fitzgerald - who numbers O'Neill and the trio Sol3 Mio among her former pupils.

Violinist Sharyn Evans, who was the longest serving member of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra when she retired last November after almost 48 years, gets and MNZM. And there is also an MNZM for the 60s singing icon Shane, known for hits such as C'Mon, who was born in England 70 years ago as Trevor Hales, and for the singer Annie Crummer, who has worked solo and with the Kiwi bands Netherworld Dancing Toys, When the Cat's Away and Herbs.

From the arts world, there are MNZMs for the novelist Emily Perkins (The Forrests, Novel about my Wife), and the art photographer Fiona Pardington. The owner of Auckland art gallery WhiteSpace, Deborah White, whose lengthy career in the art world also includes establishing the Kitchener Gallery, Pacific Artspace and helping found the Auckland Art Fair, gets an ONZM.

A Queen's Service Medal (QSM) goes to children's theatre impresario Tim Bray, whose children's theatre company Tim Bray Productions stages new interpretations of classic kids' books and plays at Takapuna's Pump House Theatre.

Candis Craven, who was chair of the Royal New Zealand Ballet from 2011 to 2016, is made a Companion of the New Zealand order of Merit (CNZM).
