Mine too, Joe. áMerry Christmas to you all from me as well.

For the first time in many years Santa is coming to our house, and Toby's dad has suggested whisky would be the thing. So there is whisky and a glass, a mince pie, a piece of the end of our cheese fondue that we had for dinner tonight, and a carrot for the reindeer. When we were in the supermarket Toby amused the staff by suggesting we leave out milk for Santa to give him a choice. So there is also a glass of milk on the table.

Mine too.  Although it is often very quiet,  it's a nice little community.  Happy Christmas Eve!

Noticed over Christmas that the number of cards arriving by snailmail has dropped off markedly. Maybe it is the influence of e-cards, Facebook, Twitter, as well as the convenience of Skype. As a family though we still exchange traditional cards.

Ditto this year to all - snailmail continues a decline.
We had the best Christmas dinner yet with everything going without a hitch. Although there was 13 of us, we are not superstitious (probably that idea is fading in today's realism!). Traditional fare with turkey and trimmings followed by pavlova, cheesecake and fruit salad. No room for cake.

occasion1  occasion5 Once again Happy New Year to everyone. 2016 is shaping up to be special with the Queen's 90th birthday in April. Our prime minister has the nerve to schedule a referendum in March for changing the flag design. It's bound to happen sometime but I can't imagine it will be in the coming year.

And New Year wishes to all from me, too. occasion7

Now both my daughter and my son are away at University, it was lovely to have them both home for Christmas, along with my daughter's fiancÚ.  It has been crowded but good to have them all here.

Keep reading!  book
