Yes, 2012 was one of my worst years for a long long time - isn't it odd?Hoping for better in 2013 and lots of changes are on the way, so maybe it will all be for the best... Happy New Year to all.

It is strange, a lot of people I know said that 2012 was a year they were glad to see the back of for varying reasons its funny how some years can be so universally bad for so many different people.

It is interesting, isn't it...lots of fun with the Jubilee and Olympics, which make it memorable in other ways, but not much fun elsewhere.  And I don't think it's anything to do with the recession, though that may be partly why I can't get a proper job!  (Though it could of course be that nobody wants me!  Who could blame them.)  But it's the personal things that I'm sure we are all feeling most negative about.

Let's hope 13 is not an unlucky number, and we all have a better time of it this year!

My daughter put her new year wishes very well:

"May 2013 bring all the joys of 2012 and none of the grief".

My family has had a difficult year and some of this will continue into 2013, but my overriding memory of the summer is of the Olympics and Paralympics (my daughter was a gamesmaker at the Paralympics, and we had tickets to a brilliant session of athletics), a holiday with my immediate family and two short breaks with extended family.  A wonderful summer sandwiched between grief and problems.

I wish you all All the joys of 2012 and none of the grief.

"Our hopes and fears through all the years..."

More fears than hopes, sadly, but we soldier on. A very Hopeful New Year to you all!

Don't put yourself down Evie, its demoralising not being able to find a job, in the last recruitment where I work there were 8 jobs going on different departments and over 800 people applied.

Happy New Year, everyone! A bit belated, I know, but I've only just got back to the UK. Sorry to hear that not everyone had a good 2012, let's hope 2013 is  better for all.
