I see that in these difficult economic times, publishers are trying to rebrand some novels to appeal to the Christmas gift market. I think they may be falsely suggesting stories about the season ...

In the Presents of the Enemy (An Inspector Tinselly Mystery)- Elizabeth George

Bird's In - Sebastian Faulks

Life of Mince Pi - Yann Martel

Loving the Spirit - Daphne du Maurier

Make Rum! Make Rum! - Harry Harrison

How Sprouts Can Change Your Life - Alain de Botton

Rendezvous with Grandma - Arthur C Clarke

Dickens is a particular author that comes to mind for writing about Christmas, but considering the current 'climate' (as people are fond of calling it), 'Hard Times' and Bleak House' might be the most appropriate of his titles.

Failing that, you could pick up Harry Potter and the New Book For The Christmas Market
