Womanís Hour is a selection of some of the interviews on the BBC radio programme which celebrated 60 years broadcasting on 7 October 2006, and is still going strong.
This is very much a book to dip into according to taste Ė I made a bee line for the popular authors. Interesting to read Iris Murdoch lamenting that she hadnít been a teenager because in her teens it wasnít the fashion to wear her hair in a pony tail or dance(?) rockíníroll or cavort in drainpipe trousers.
The introductions to each decade are shared between Jenni Murray, Sue MacGregor and Martha Kearney.

I am 70 pages into A Pound of Paper by John Baxter, the confessions of a book addict. From starting with S.F. magazines he developed an interest in books and ended up with a Paris library worth millions. Brought up in Junee, New South Wales the first book he collected was The Poems of Rupert Brooke, the Sidgwick & Jackson edition with the poetís picture, looking peeved having died of a mosquito bite before countless admirers had a chance to lionize him!

We have had two 'current reads' threads for a while now, and I think it's better if we have them all in one place - so I am going to lock this thread, and we can carry on using the 'What are you reading in 2009?' thread.  There was a bit of confusion at the start, as some thought that thread was for reading plans rather than what we are actually reading, but it is being used as a current reads thread, so I think it's best just to have one of those.

Hope that's OK with everyone!
