I have found far too little time to really keep up with you all over the last  few months, for which I apologise profusely. I really enjoy reading everyone's comments and feel really guilty that I contribute so little - if I were in the habit of making New Year's resolutions, it would be to give back some of what I receive from this board. But I'm not, so that will remain as just a vague intention, which may or may not be fulfilled, depending upon how things go.

I shall be away from home and away from the computer for the next few days, but I didn't want to go without wishing you all the very best for the year ahead. Thank you all for all the interesting discussions you have allowed me to eavesdrop on, and thank you for the very many suggestions and recommendations which have lead me to discover new authors who have brought me great enjoyment. And last, but far from least thank you to those of you who have given me warning (wittingly or not) of authors who I most certainly do not wish to know better!

Happy New Year and I look forward to many interesting debates in the months ahead. occasion7  occasion9

Happy New Year to you too, Chris - hope you have a lovely few days away!

Your contributions are hugely valued, however frequent or infrequent - you are wise not to make resolutions, just turn up when you can!

Hope everyone has a good New Year's Eve, whatever your choice of celebration (my choice is to stay home alone with a glass or two of something and one of the Orson Welles films I recorded over Christmas, and will probably be in bed before midnight!).  And hope 2010 is a good year for everyone - we never know what life will throw at us, but I will drink to a year of health and happiness but also the courage to face times of adversity, should they come!

And here's to lots of great reading and discussing and book-related fun.

Many thanks to Chris and Evie for those kind thoughts.

I am very much the new kid on the block with this forum so please bear with me!

Yes, I was thrilled to see Duckpond again too in another thread.

It is New Year here in a few hours.  I can't remember ever not staying up till mid-night to see this in, but my husband is muttering about not bothering this year.  We'll see.  Happy New Year to you all anyway and best wishes for the rest of the year.

Cheers, Caro.

Caro

A very Happy New Year to you and yours and many thanks for the welcome back.

My (mental for the time being) list of things I would like to achieve in 2010 is starting to get pretty long but one of the main ones is to get more reading done Smile

Happy new to everyone from me too! I personally will be glad to see the back of this year and it seems determined to go out (for me at least) kicking and screaming and causing trouble!

Still hopefully next year will be better, but less of my demented ramblings and I wish everyone on Big Readers a..

Yes isn't it scary the way the century is flying past?

A very happy new year to all.
