Not sure if this is the place to put this. Caro has given me (husband Malcolm imperfect instructions). But she's asked me to let this Board know our not-such-good news. Caro has a rather serious stroke about one month ago, before our trip to New Plymouth - 10 September. We were at home and with ambulances and helicopter were in the hospital within a couple of hours - not bad for our rural location.
She has begun her recovery well. Happily did not lose speech for more than a couple of days, and cognitive and memory functions are largely undamaged. Caro is well in herself.  It was a left brain stroke and so the right side will take some time to recover. She already has some movement in her fingers and has begun the awkward task of learning (redirecting the brain) to walk again. We have a great Rehab Unit in Dunedin who are looking after her well.
If any of you have her email address, I could give further details and keep you updated if you wish. Happy to have information shared wherever you think appropriate.
Malcolm for Caro

Thanks very much for letting us know, Malcolm. I had wondered where Caro had gone. Sorry to hear this very sad news, but I suppose it's good that things aren't as bad as they might be, and that speech, movement, etc. are returning, however slowly. Do give all our best wishes to Caro with her recovery, and I hope we'll see her back here when she's able. Gareth
