Oh well - I guess its just me then!

It is a bit irritating though as before you could see at a glance where the new posts were now I have to go through every section checking all the dates!

Apple, I would find that irritating too!

Just a thought - do you remain signed in or do you sign in each time you visit the forum? †I remain signed in and I can see the yellow tags.

I've never used the yellow tags till recently, (not knowing about them, till I read this? thread from the start recently) but I go to Forum Index and then to new posts.  That saves you going through all the forums, though sometimes if the site has been closed and re-opened then I miss some that I haven't already opened.

But I don't know why the yellow tabs would have stopped working for you, Apple.

Cheers, Caro.

That canít be the problem, Jen. I sign in every time and sign out after each session. The yellow tags appear as soon as Iíve signed in.

Apple, could it be that you are looking when there are no new posts. Sometimes when I look there are only one or two yellow tabs?
Usually I use "view posts since last visit" over to the right on the index page.

I've thought of posting a photo or two; if somebody cares to explain the process I might do it.

Directly below the text box when you post a message, there is an 'Attach File' button. It should let you upload images. From what I remember it's fairly self-explanatory (boxes to tick if you want the image full-size or thumbnail, etc.).

I've wondered off and on about the make-up of the membership of this forum, and how such things come to be. I belong (or have belonged) to other forums in which the membership is predominantly American, which always seemed an ordinary state of affairs. Here? Just one American participant that I can recall, although I can't really say that for sure. And one Canadian - me. More Kiwis than Americans - that is a highly unusual state of affairs, in my experience.

It leads me to wonder where all the other North Americans are discussing books online. If they are. Also what the heck I am doing here. I can't even remember how I stumbled upon Big Readers. What governs or influences such things, if anything?

Please do not interpret any of this as dissatisfaction with the way things are. It is curiosity, nothing more.

I know there was some discussion a while ago about the ads at the top of the page (I am sure they have a name, but have forgotten it), but I couldn't find it. The ads usually bother me so little that I had not noticed that they were there until someone pointed it out. BUT - there is a current one featuring Jamie Oliver that ALWAYS covers up the first topic on the page, which is usually the very one I want to read. I have never shared the near universal adulation of JO, but now I really hate him.

Is he messing up the board for everyone else, or is it just his revenge on me for refusing to buy his merchandise?

Not me, Chris - in fact I don't seem to get any ads from this site.  But I loathe those ads that sit in front of what you are reading and are often moving ones at that.  How can they think that will persuade anyone to buy their products?
