Interesting to see so many Roald Dahls here.  This is a list put out generally by older children as they will be more likely to write and vote than younger ones.  So no Where the Wild Things Are, Not Now Bernard, Berenstain Bears, The Tiger who Came to Tea (which I still saw prominently on the Whitcoulls shelves the day I picked this up), etc.
Nice to see Dr Seuss books still popular.  Apart from Hairy Maclary I can't see any NZ books here and there are some very good NZ writers for older children and young adult readers.

I think in any list of children's books I made Roald Dahl would feature heavily. He was a very important part of my childhood.
