Weird titles/books

My son sent me this site and thought the pople on my books board might be interested.  So here it is.  http://www.abebooks.com/books/weird/index.shtml?cm_mmc=nl-_-nl-_-g00-weirdbC-_-01link

I see on the list Blessed are the Cheesemakers by Sarah-Kate Lynch.  She is a NZ author, writing sort of chick lit.  Most of our authors go for more literary stuff but she is a lighter comic writer.  I have read this book.

Have you read any of them?

Cheers, Caro.

I can state quite categorically that I have not read any of them! It is amazing that most of them ever got published. Although I'm sure it would be amusing to browse through a few.

I remember a few years ago I heard that there was actually a book called How to Shit in the Woods, when a colleague of mine told me that he actually had the book. He subsequently lent me the book: it was about how best o survive in the wilderness. And yes, there actually was a section on well, on how to shit in the woods (it advises, as I remember, digging a shallow hole first, and burying it all up afterwards).

But had the author asked any bears for advice?

Bear Grylls, perhaps?
Evie

I always thinkj Bear Grylls is an unfortunate (though wonderful) name, as he might end up as one.

It does exist:

My favourite title, though, is this one:

It's pleasing to see that the front cover exhibits the same good taste as the title!  Very Happy

I presume this is an American book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Overcomin...dp/0981621023/ref=cm_cr_pr_sims_i

I love the fact that the two titles most often bought with that are Bad Science and an X Box Live points card...all stereotypes of geeky teenage boys suddenly come into focus!  Sorry, unfair to teenage boys, I know, it just made me laugh.

I do have a collection of short stories by Zora Neale Hurston entitled "Spunk" (after one of the stories). Spunk is actually a character, and not the sort you'd want to mess with!
