Not 15 but 30 minutes of fame for Owaka - and our Caro!

Congratulations, Caro, on your contribution to the programme on Owaka. For a small community there are lots of activities to join; when you talked about the museum I fully expected you to mention the library and the avid readers in the area! I can imagine the 150th anniversary in 2016 will be a highlight in the Catlins. As well, I have just realised that the film Two Little Boys, starring comedians Bret McKenzie and Hamish Blake, was filmed there in 2011.

Thanks for that, Castorboy.  I should have mentioned the library, especially since I was actually working (as a fill-in) for the information centre and library, not the museum.  Never mind. It's a bit nerve-wracking talking on the radio, I found.  Even though they had phoned earlier and given me some idea of what we would be talking about.

And thanks for sending the link - we had recorded in via Sky but when you had it here we just listened to it that way.

Did you see Two Little Boys?  We watched it and I rather liked it, though many people found it too dark and quite violent.  I did find it quite unsettling, having a sort of stalker feeling to the relationship, which wasn't fully ended at the end of the movie.

Oh wow! - I'd missed this! Congratulations from me too, Caro!

Good to see you are back, Caro, and hope that you can make a full recovery from such a shock.
Will you be able to attend any of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the founding of Owaka? There was an item on national radio last Thursday about the weekend celebrations.

I have realised the audio of your conversation on National Radio is no longer available, however, there is a promotional video for the museum and information centre which looks very modern and efficient using the design of a canoe. When was it built as I can't recall visiting it in 2003?
