Naomi Novik

I was given the third book in a series by this author for Christmas a couple of years ago, and have just got round to purchasing the first two books so I can finally read the gift book.  I am yet to start reading them, but they are next on my "to be read" pile.  Has anyone read anything of hers?  Any opinions welcome!

Hi evil if you mean Temeraire I read the first book just over three years ago. It is a pretty clever story but I was more interested in the dragons than the battles with the French.

Indeed, I meant Temeraire and the subsequent books.  I am now on to book five and thoroughly enjoying myself.  They are well written and entertaining, the only thing that bothers me is that the editing leaves something to be desired as I keep finding mistakes.

Hi Evil, I have enjoyed these books too and have, I think, the first three. They do owe a bit to Anne McCaffrey and to Susannah Clarke but I found them great fun - especially the first
