Book Accessories

It was my birthday yesterday and I was given  a lovely device for holding my book open whilst reading it and a very pretty bookmark from a design by Rene Mackintosh. I'm sure we've talked about bits and pieces for readers before but I can't find the Subject heading so I'm starting this one. What attractive accessories do you have and what interesting book related  inventions have you come across?
I wasn't meaning the Kindle or things that are book substitutes.

I don't have any exciting book accessories, but I would like to wish you happy birthday!  I take that back (not the birthday wishes!), I do have a very beautiful bookmark bearing the words "Pax et Bonum" that my daughter brought me from Venice and another marbelized leather one a friend gave me from her trip to Italy.

Somewhere tucked away in a drawer I have a green wire book holder that fixed to the armrest of my mother's favourite chair so that she could read while she knitted.   She even used to do Fairisle patterns at the same time as reading, which always seemed an impossible feat to me.

Wow!   I have enough problems following a Fairisle pattern without trying to read as well!

Sorry, Ann, I'm wondering about Rene Mackintosh, who sounds like she'd be a friend of my mum's?!  Wink Do you mean Charles Rennie Mackintosh, painter and designer, who executed beautiful art nouveau designs? Sounds like a fab device you've got there.

Very Happy That is who I meant, Green Jay. Spelling has never been a strong point and he is an artist I don't know well but that is no excuse! I should have looked him up. Having studied spelling problems I know I'm an auditory speller and just go with the sound of the word.
