ANAGRAMS

I discovered these two prime examples of ANAGRAMS in the fourth volume of John Julius Norwich’s literary compendiums ‘Christmas Crackers’.

PRESIDENT CLINTON OF THE USA     becomes

TO COPULATE HE FINDS INTERNS

TO BE OR NOT TO BE THAT IS THE QUESTION,
WHETHER ‘TIS NOBLER IN THE MIND TO SUFFER
THE SLINGS AND ARROWS OF OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE…..becomes

IN ONE OF THE BARD’S BEST-THOUGHT-OF TRAGEDIES,
OUR INSISTENT HERO, HAMLET, QUERIES ON TWO
FRONTS ABOUT HOW LIFE TURNS ROTTEN

Does anyone know any other good ones, or can invent one of their own?

In one of the  now-famous Guardian Christmas crosswords, teh legendary Araucaria came up with the following:

"O hark the herald angels sing the boy’s descent which lifted up the world"

is an anagram of

"While shepherds watched their flocks by night, all seated on the ground".

Another famous Araucaria one of which I am particularly fond:

Chaste Lord Archer vegetating = The Old Vicarage, Grantchester
