Alcuin?

Was that our Alcuin who won last night's heat of Mastermind? I wondered about that all through the programme. He answered questions on Alice Cooper, that seemed in keeping with our old friend. Question

Yes, that was, indeed, our Alcuin! Very Happy

Hi folks. Although I haven't posted on here for months now, I still occasionally pop in and read a few discussions. Today I thought I'd wish you all a merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year because you're such a lovely bunch of people and I count you all as dear friends. Take care now. Gul.

How lovely to see you here, Gul! I hope you and your family are all well, and Merry Christmas to you and indeed to everyone else here.

Thanks, Gareth. It's been a difficult year - my father died a few weeks ago after a long struggle with cancer. I'm just feeling exhaused at the moment, but all the family have been there to support one another and it has brought us closer together. Hope you are well.
I've just noticed that I posted this in a thread about Alcuin. D'oh!

I'm sorry to hear your sad news. There's a bit of illness in my family at the moment too, which is a trial, but it's impressive the way people rally round. Perhaps if we all keep posting in a thread about Alcuin he will return. I know some people are in touch with him on Facebook. If it works I'll start a new thread called The Baron.

Sorry to hear about this Gul. Hope you have a peaceful Christmas, and I hope to see you again in the New Year.

Indeed, I hope to see everyone again in the New Year!

Hello Gul, so sorry about your father's passing but hope you and family find much comfort in each other and Christmas.

I'm sorry to hear your news, Gul. These things seem all too often to come at this time of year, just when we are all under pressure to be jolly and sociable. The only consolation is that it is also a time when families naturally come together and can support one another. I hope you and others who loved your father will at least find comfort in remembering the good times that you spent together.
