I didn't know where to put this - considered children's books, but have decided on here.

We are very pleased here in NZ as Bret McKenzie (of Flight of the Phoenix fame - though does this have fame in Britain, it does in America but I'm not sure about the UK) has won an Oscar for the best song with his song for The Muppets movie.  I think he was the musical director.  He has said he never imagined when he was young that he would be in the position of talking to Kermit the Frog, who 'like many of the stars here, is shorter than he appears on television."

A second item here which perhaps should be on When an Author Dies.  Jan Berenstain of Berenstain Bears titles (dozens of them) has died in her 80s.  My kids loved a couple of these stories at least and we re-read them a lot.  Her husband and collaborator died a few years ago.

Cheers, Caro.

Caro, I am a great fan of Flight of The Chondors (not Phoenix, at least not here) but I think it is quite a niche fandom, as their two TV series were on late at night. I loved the posters advertising New Zealand - "not as boring as you think". "Like Scotland, but with more sheep"  Very Happy

We'll get it right eventually, Gren Jay; it is Flight of the Conchords.  I have only watched it occasionally (though that is true for most of my television viewing).

Oh, blasphemous thought!  Too late to correct it (not that I had even noticed till now) as it would make your post irrelevant, Castorboy.  (Whose name I regularly get wrong, seeming to expect it to be two words.)
