I have just read that James Patterson, writer of the Alex Cross detective novels, is offering book shops on both sides of the Tasman up to $5000 each to spend on their childrenís section. He is concerned that young people today are not reading enough. I hadnít realised that he had sponsored similar schemes in the UK and the USA. The article is here
